Have something to say about foreign policy? We're looking for thoughtful, well-researched analysis from high school students who aren't afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. Your voice matters in these conversations—and we want to help you be heard.

Submission Guidelines

Topics We Cover: We publish analysis and commentary on international relations, geopolitics, and U.S. foreign policy. Whether you're passionate about rising tensions in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East conflicts, trade wars, defense strategy, or America's role in global institutions, we want to read your take.

What Makes a Strong Submission:

  • Original Analysis: Fresh perspectives that add something new to the conversation, not just summaries of current events

  • Well-Researched: Strong arguments backed by credible sources, data, and evidence

  • Clear Writing: Complex topics explained in accessible language that engages readers

  • Your Voice: We want to hear how you think, not what you think we want to hear

  • Proper Length: Articles should be between 800 and 2,000 words

Writing Style: We value clear, direct writing over academic jargon. Think "intelligent but accessible"—the kind of analysis you'd want to read, not the kind you'd fall asleep reading. Be bold. Be specific. Make an argument.

After You Submit

Acceptance: If your article is accepted, we'll reach out with next steps. Some pieces are ready to publish immediately; others benefit from light editing or revisions.

Revisions Requested: Sometimes a great idea needs refinement. If we see potential but think the piece needs work, we'll provide specific feedback and invite you to revise and resubmit.

Not Accepted: We can't publish everything, but we'll do our best to provide constructive feedback when possible. Don't be discouraged—keep writing, keep refining your arguments, and feel free to pitch us another topic.

Timeline: You'll hear back within 2-3 weeks regardless of the decision.

Make Your Article
Stand Out

Start with a Strong Thesis: Don't bury your argument. Tell us upfront what you're arguing and why it matters.

Use Credible Sources: Link to reputable news outlets, think tanks, government documents, and academic research. Avoid random blogs or unreliable sources.

Show, Don't Just Tell: Use specific examples, data, and case studies to support your points. "China is expanding its influence" is vague. "China has established military bases in Djibouti and the South China Sea" is specific.

Anticipate Counterarguments: Acknowledge opposing viewpoints and explain why your analysis is stronger. This shows intellectual honesty.

Edit Ruthlessly: Cut unnecessary words. Tighten your sentences. Make every paragraph earn its place.

Proofread: Typos happen, but too many suggest you didn't take the work seriously. Run spellcheck. Read it out loud. Have someone else look at it.
